Printmaking

I recycle and recreate drawings, patterns and collages by using them to create gel transfers and serigraphy prints that are layered over chine-collé and under acrylic paint. These drawings and collages are first created in my moleskin that I carry with me daily. My moleskin has traveled with me across the United States, from coast to coast. It has also accompanied me on my journeys throughout Italy, Paris, London and New York. I record observations of people, places and objects through pen and ink drawings and compositions formed with careful arrangements of collected papers. I use handmade printed paper, my grandfather's old blueprints, magazines, newspapers, advertisements torn form the streets of different cities, and more. In recycling ideas and imagery from one medium to another I play with scale and metaphors which led to this series of prints.
